"This painting is part of my series looking at romantic love and couples on the early days of a relationship, and the type of dates such going to the park in this case. I wanted to show the intimacy of the two figures just enjoying each other's company in blissful peace and relaxing; a state of being together not actively doing anything. The grass background is made from batik and dyed indigo, then stained with yellow ink."
